My Tableau Student License has expired! How do I renew my student license?

To extend or renew your Tableau student license, simply re-submit this Tableau for Students form to verify you’re still enrolled. www.tableau.com/studentlicense

My product key is invalid

If you’re receiving the error “the product key is invalid” it may be because the current version you have installed is an older version of Tableau. Please check out our Knowledge Base Page for additional support on how to resolve your issue.

If these steps don’t work, please feel free to submit a support case here. Enter “installation” or other keywords into the search bar to help find your answer. If you cannot find correct documentation, feel free to submit a support case on the “continue to create case” button and a member of our Technical Support team will be with you shortly.

Can I install Tableau on more than one device?

You are only allowed up to two activations with the same product key. This means you can install Tableau on up to two devices. If you have reached the maximum activations, and wish to install on another device, you must deactivate one of those activations. If you need assistance moving or deactivating Tableau on a machine, you can get more information here.

What is eLearning and how do I use it?

Tableau eLearning is web-based training you can consume at your own pace. Courses are interactive and designed to help you learn Tableau, regardless of skill level. Once verified through our Tableau for Students program, you will receive a code and instructions on how to register at the Tableau Learning Center. For more information about eLearning, take a look at our eLearning page.

What's the best way to get started learning with Tableau as a student?

We recommend activating your eLearning license when you start using Tableau. Also, check out the student resource page for example data sets and additional free training.

Can I get a student discount for the Tableau Desktop Specialist Certification?

We are currently offering a 20% discount on the Tableau Desktop Specialist Exam to students. We do not offer discounts on the other exams at this time.

Please check out the Certification site for more information. The discount is automatically applied if you were successfully verified from SheerID when you applied for a student license. If the discount does not work, please feel free to reach out to tft@tableau.com for a discount code. In the case of a discount error, please wait to purchase until Academic Programs has resolved the error, as retroactive discounts and refunds are not possible.

Can I use my student license as part of my internship or job?

Absolutely! No additional documentation is required.
