Stay informed with coronavirus data – updated daily
As the COVID-19 situation has evolved globally, we shifted the data we report to better identify hotspots and trends. A new hotspot tab has been added to the global coronavirus tracker to look at infection rates per 100,000 people, focused on rolling, seven-day trends.

Connect to COVID-19 activity data
Tableau is aware of the US federal government's decision that all hospitals submit COVID-19 patient information directly to the Department of Health and Human Services, versus the Centers for Disease Control. While there is no immediate impact to the data made available through the Tableau COVID-19 data hub, we will continue to evaluate any potential changes. We will work to ensure that this data stream continues to be a valuable, reliable resource for decision making.
The data stream, aggregated from the New York Times, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control and the Public Health Agency of Canada, continues to be a vital resource for corporate and government decision-makers as they navigate the global pandemic.

Viz responsibly
As you use COVID-19 data, it’s important to remember that, while the underlying data comes from trusted sources, it’s difficult to accurately estimate the number of COVID-19 cases worldwide because of the vastly different approaches to both testing and reporting. Also remember, even data visualisations based on accurate data can be misleading.
